THE PERSON BEHIND THE PIXELS
Hey, I'm Jessie — and I've been in your exact shoes.
MY STORY
Small Town Girl.
Big Belief in Small Businesses.
I didn’t set out to become a website designer. I started as a bookkeeper.
I’ve spent 10+ years in bookkeeping, and when I decided to start my own bookkeeping business, Oak and Ledger, in 2025, I did what I usually do. I figured it out myself. That included building my own website. And somewhere between choosing fonts, rearranging pages, and obsessing over all the little details, I realized I genuinely loved it. People started noticing too. Friends, family, and fellow business owners would ask who built my website, and before long, I was helping other people with theirs.
That eventually became Jessie Off the Books.
Today, I create Squarespace website templates and websites specifically for bookkeepers because I know what it’s like to build a bookkeeping business from the ground up. I know you need a website that looks professional, clearly explains what you do, and makes it easy for the right clients to trust you and reach out.
You don’t need to become a website designer to build a great bookkeeping business.
Luckily, I accidentally did.
